On February 24, 2018 we will be having a visioning day regarding future facilities expansion. In the time leading up to that day a number of groups will be working to gather information from people who are a part of our ministry as well as individuals from the broader community. The data gathered by these groups will be used to inform our work on visioning day. Click on the name of a group for a description. This group is responsible for asset mapping our current facilities in terms of what we have been blessed with in order to carry out the Great Commission. Then, this group will go on to make an inventory of possible future facilities needs on the current and future facilities in coordination with Ryan Pudwell as the foundation for a future facilities master plan.
This group is responsible for engaging the families who are non-members of ILC and who entrust Immanuel Lutheran School with the education and faith formation of their children. This group will conduct a general blind survey as well as perhaps leading discussion with focus groups in order to present a coherent overview of the real and felt ministry needs of the non-Lutheran families who make up our school community.
This group is responsible for engaging the current Immanuel Lutheran School faculty in order to understand their unique perspective on the day-to-day ministry needs of our largest single ministry. This group will work under the leadership of two (2) faculty members.
This group is responsible for engaging the wider community that forms Immanuel’s ministry context. This group will conduct a demographics study, general surveys of residents and businesses in our area of the metro, and even focus group discussions in order to present a coherent overview of the real and felt needs of the community that will help orient Immanuel’s ministry in the years to come.
This group is responsible for engaging the families who are current members of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. This group will conduct a general blind survey, create an asset map of the congregation, as well as perhaps leading discussion with focus groups in order to present a coherent overview of the real and felt ministry needs of our Lutheran families who call Immanuel their spiritual home.
This group will work to pull together all the reports of the different working groups into a “master report” that will help orient the work of the Building Committee in presenting Immanuel’s vision to the architect who will design our future facilities. This group will need to work in a very organized and time-efficient manner.
This group is responsible for helping to communicate updates on the visioning process, the work of the Building Committee, the pastors’ leadership, and (eventually) the Capital Campaign Committee’s work. This committee is vital to helping all Immanuel families and non-member school families to stay in the loop regarding the direction in which the Lord is leading Immanuel. This communication is foundational to helping to share our excitement with the community at large.
